Sankofa MLE Reaches out to Incarcerated Men at MDC
The Sankofa Men's Leadership Exchange will be supporting men dealing with incarceration by working collaboratively with the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center to provide 160 holiday cards and envelopes as well as letters of inspiration, and providing mentorship and support to transition through their reintegration into the community.

​The Albuqueruqe Journal highlights Sankofa MLE

On Saturday, December 20, 2014, the Albuquerque Journal will be interviewing the Sankofa Men's Leadership Exchange highlighting our involvement and impact in the community. 

Sankofa MLE to make recommendations to APD

August 16, 2014 through November 26, 2014, a group representing The Sankofa Men's Leadership Exchange attended the Albuquerque Police Department's Citizen Academy Training. The purpose of attending this 12 week course was to have a representation of our community present, exposed to and participating in the conversation, curriculum and culture of the Albuquerque Police Department. Working with the Department, The Sankofa Men's Leadership Exchange has been tasked with making actionable reccomendations to APD as to how to increase positive community interaction and policing.

MLK Commission Youth Conference

The Sankofa Men's Leadership Exchange will be partnering with the Martin Luther King Commission's youth rally. This 3 day event will culminate in a day long presentation of leadership curriculum for young men  developed by The Sankofa Men's Leadership Exchange.

​Sankofa MLE  Supports M.O.C.I. at the University of New Mexico

The University of New Mexico's Men of Color Initiative (M.O.C.I.), designed to support and increase the graduation rate of students of color at UNM, will be hosting an event with its community partners announcing its operation under the executive direction of Rodney Bowe, a member of The Sankofa Men's Leadership Exchange.
